This small personal project was an exercise in the visual design of messenger apps. Not having built one before, I wanted to acquaint myself with the leading platforms, and standard UI practices. I focused on designing an iOS native app.

Competitive Analysis
Even with the smallest projects, I conduct some kind of competitive analysis. For this I analyzed the user experience of three popular apps on the market. Apple Messenger, Facebook messenger, and WhatsApp. Below are screen grabs of each app's chat page. I mark up similarities, differences and make notes of what is working or not for the service.
